Ryūgū Rena (竜宮 レナ) is one of the protagonists of ひぐらしのなく頃に. She's friends with Keiichi, Mion, Rika and Satoko, all of them sharing the same class. She appears to be showing romantic feelings towards Keiichi.

Kind, carefree and a bit of an air-head at first, Rena appears to be an ordinary girl with an usual crush on her friend. She likes to cook for her friends, helping Keiichi's mother for shopping, and cares a lot about friendship.

One of her weird and unusual hobbies is searching for cute things in the local dump of the village— having a secret place where she storages it.

But since every village has secrets, nothing is like they appear to be. Is Rena really a good girl like she wants to portray?

She's one of the most popular characters in the saga, being in most artworks and advertisments and possibly mascot of 07th Expansion.
